So, I posted awhile back that we switched Hudson from breast milk to formula milk to soy formula. We kept him on soy formula for about 8 weeks or so......until I started reading and hearing the negative effects that soy may have on infants, particularly boys. It has to do with the phytoestrogens and isoflavones in the soy product. I don't mean to scare anyone who's child might be drinking soy, but I would definitely advise doing some research of your own. I have now switched Hudson back to a milk based formula and he seems to be doing very well on it so far (it's been over a week now). In hindsight, I'm really upset with myself for not trying to breast feed him longer. I guess it goes back to being a first time mom and worried that I was "hurting" my little boy. His stomach was always so upset when he breastfed....but it was also upset with the milk based formulas. I really think it was just because his digestive system hadn't properly developed yet. I should have stuck it out with the breast feeding! Lesson learned for baby #2. Anyway, he's back on milk formula and he's doing great! This was the right decision for us.
You've really grown over the last month....and by grown, I mean you've gotten to be a little butter ball! It seems like it's happened over night. One day you had these skinny little legs and now they're pudgy little tree trunks!! You are the cutest baby ever (I'm not biased at all). We're guessing that you weigh about 15 lbs. now. Wow!!
Although we're in our new house, we still haven't moved you into your own room yet. I'm not sure when I'll feel comfortable doing that. For now, you're still sleeping in your cradle at the end of our bed and that's just fine with us. You've been sleeping pretty good lately. Lots of 6 and 7 hour stretches. I'm definitely ready for the 2am feeding to stop though. Hopefully it will happen in the next few weeks??
We've been working on getting you to roll over and you're almost there! You can get about half way over and then we have to help you the rest of the way. You're not real fond of your "tummy time", but you tolerate it for 10 minute intervals. You've gotten to where you hate being held facing us. You want to be turned around so that you can see all of the action. And, if anyone tries to hold you to their chest, you promptly let them know that you're not happy!
You've gotten so strong this past month. You're holding your head pretty steady these days and you love to stand up on those (not so) little legs!
You've been coming up to the office with me on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and you've been so good! There have been a couple of temper tantrums where I've had to close my office door, but you've been quite the trooper for the most part. You hang with Daddy on Mondays and Fridays and he loves spending the day with you! You are so much fun and we love watching you grow and develop. Happy 3 month birthday, little man! We love you.
