So, I posted awhile back that we switched Hudson from breast milk to formula milk to soy formula. We kept him on soy formula for about 8 weeks or so......until I started reading and hearing the negative effects that soy may have on infants, particularly boys. It has to do with the phytoestrogens and isoflavones in the soy product. I don't mean to scare anyone who's child might be drinking soy, but I would definitely advise doing some research of your own. I have now switched Hudson back to a milk based formula and he seems to be doing very well on it so far (it's been over a week now). In hindsight, I'm really upset with myself for not trying to breast feed him longer. I guess it goes back to being a first time mom and worried that I was "hurting" my little boy. His stomach was always so upset when he breastfed....but it was also upset with the milk based formulas. I really think it was just because his digestive system hadn't properly developed yet. I should have stuck it out with the breast feeding! Lesson learned for baby #2.
Anyway, he's back on milk formula and he's doing great! This was the right decision for us.
