Headin' Out West...

On Friday, we took a little day trip out to Trey's aunt/uncle's ranch. Hudson had never been out there before and he absolutely loved it! We'll definitely have to go out there more often. This kid is crazy about animals! We loaded up on the 4 wheelers and "mules" and went on a little tour to "check the property". The views out there are so pretty with all the trees changing colors. We don't see much of that in the city!

What are these things??? We don't have many leaves in our backyard! :)

Pretty Aspen - Hudson loved him. He's used to seeing black labs!

Ready to go!

Katie and Sawyer

Here come the goats.........

And they aren't shy! They climbed right up into our vehicles.

Hudson watching the goats

We got him out of the car and he wasn't so sure about it...

But, then he warmed right up to them. They were all really sweet.

Kissing the goat! Wow....

Relaxing in a hammock with Katie

Hudson, Katie and Caroline.Caroline belongs to Courtney (Trey's cousin). She was so sweet and wanted to help me with Hudson all day long. She was a big help! Precious girl! I'm so sad that I didn't get any pictures of her brothers, Ashton and Sawyer (we have 2 Sawyers in our family!)

We all had a great time! Thanks so much for inviting us out Alan and Lee!!!

Turkey Wrap Up

Thanksgiving was easy-easy this year! My parents went to Vegas and Anthony doesn't come home on Thansgiving. So...Austin joined us and we spent the holiday with Trey's entire family. Both of his brothers and their families came into town. The Oklahoma family arrived on WED evening and stayed at our house. They got to wake up bright and early to our little munchkin who loves to talk and jibber-jabber. There's no sleeping in at the Neville household. Sorry guys! But, how can you be annoyed when you wake up to someone as cute as this?????

Sawyer and Hudson having a face off!

I think Hudson won!

And we didn't even have to cook! We decided to make it really simple and go to the club for Thanksgiving lunch. They had 2 seatings this year and we chose the 11am seating so that we could all be home in time to watch the Cowboy game and take a mid-afternoon snooze. It was really very easy and our country club had a fabulous buffet...shrimp, salads, cheeses, breads, turkey, pork tenderloin, steak, dressing, mashed potatoes, and of course...... a huge dessert spread! They even had a kids buffet set up with chicken nuggets, mac n' cheese and pizza. We gave Hudson some small pieces of turkey, mac n' cheese and some mashed potatoes. He LOVED them all!!! And I even gave him a little bite of pumpkin pie. He liked it a lot too! I was never a "sweets" person before I got pregnant. In fact, I hardly ever ate sweets. During my pregnancy, that's ALL I wanted. I thought it might go away after I had Hudson, but that sweet tooth has stuck around! I'd rather have dessert than the turkey and dressing now. So strange! Anyway, we started off the meal with a champagne toast that Trey's mom asked Austin to give. He loves being the center of attention and absolutely loves giving toasts. That's his "thing"! He gave a toast to which he thanked God for our meal and our family - sometimes his toasts are a lot like prayers too. :)

Hmmm...Katie Belle, are you old enough to be drinking that champagne???

Then we all got down to business....and hit the buffet!

My dessert plate! Isn't that little turkey cute? Oreos, candy corns and a whopper for the face. I didn't eat it, but I had to get a picture. Pumpkin pie and cheese cake were the others!

And some family pics:

Brent feeding Grace her first bite of "real" food ever. Mashed Potatoes!!

Cousin Grace (who is 2 months younger than Hudson) woke up sick on Thanksgiving. You could tell she didn't feel good throughout lunch, but she was quite the trooper. When they got back to Trey's parents house, they discovered she had a very high temp. It was over 103, so they took her to the ER. Turns out, she had double ear infections and an upper respiratory infection. Poor little thing!!! That part of the family ended up leaving early FRI morning to go back to Austin. Hopefully, Grace is feeling better now! And, we're praying that Hudson doesn't get it. They were only around each other on WED night for a little while, so maybe he won't. So far, he's just fine!
After lunch, Hudson and I headed home so that he could have his afternoon nap. Trey took Sawyer to the Cowboy game. Katie and Austin kept me company at our house, while everyone else gathered at Trey's parents (except for Kathy, Grace and Suzanne who headed to the hospital). We watched the game and then Hudson and I took a little walk to the park by our house.

It was a great Thanksgiving and we have so much to be thankful for!! Hope you all had a wonderful turkey day as well.

Things I'm THANKFUL for this year:

1) Trey - for being a great husband, but more importantly for being a FABULOUS father to Hudson.

2) My family (parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews) - so blessed to have such a fun, loving family of people that I enjoy spending time with.

3) My friends - old and new. Wouldn't know what to do without these wonderful folks!

4) My home - a roof over my head is more than a lot of people have these days.

5) My health
6) My job

And last, but certainly not least ------ I'm thankful for

7) This little turkey!

I'm thankful that Hudson has made me see the world in a new perspective. He's changed my whole outlook on life and made me a more caring, loving and giving person. And for this, I'm most thankful!!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! We are so incredibly blessed.

A Walk in the Park...

Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous day! Blue skies....sunshine...mid 60's....perfect day for lunch in the park. Which is exactly what we did. My mom had Hudson, so Trey and I met them with sandwiches.
Hudson got to swing, which he loved and I slid down the slide with him, which he wasn't so sure about. Actually, he could've cared less. He didn't even acknowledge it.

This is his new thing...sticking out his tongue when he's concentrating.

And I know that y'all probably think that this sweater is the only sweater the poor kid owns, but I promise it's not! For some reason, he always seems to be in it when I pull out the camera. Oh well....at least we've gotten our wear out of it!

And.....oh yes, that's me with dark hair. Still haven't gotten used to it yet.

What a great lunch hour!

Just a few pics of Studson to tide you over throughout the week. He is a moving machine these days. All over the place. Into everything. Keeping Mom and Dad on their toes!

He's still loving his food too! This weekend, he went to town on a teething cookie. Loved it.

And he's still infatuated with dogs. When I dropped him off this morning at my parents, I took him out to the garage to see their dog, Annie before she went off to work with my Dad. My mom sent the picture below. Apparently, Hudson just wants to sit at the garage door and look for Annie now. I think that may be his first word. He's already saying: Aaa-eee!
