Christmas Overload

This might be the longest post I've ever done. Where to start?? We had a wonderful Christmas this year! It was so cool to celebrate with Hudson and actually see him get excited about toys and opening gifts and being with family. Our Christmas celebration began on Christmas Eve. We met Trey's family at church and then went to my aunt and uncle's house for our annual Christmas Eve celebration. We've been going to my aunt/uncle's house for as long as I can remember. We call it Feliz Navidad Christmas because she serves tamales and queso and 7 layer dip, etc.... We don't exchange presents anymore. It's just a good time to get everyone together to catch up. Well...let me re-phrase that - MOST of us don't exchange presents. Hudson and Austin seem to clean up each year. I guess they're the only one's that make it on to Santa's "Nice" list each year. Get ready for picture overload. I took over 350 pics this year, but don't worry....I won't bore you with all of them!

PART I:

Hudson is usually a little apprehensive about dogs, (Remember - Ranger bit him on the face when he was a year old) but he LOVED Rosie dog. He followed her everywhere and would just crack himself up running away from her or chasing her. I think Rosie was the one trying to escape Hudson!!
At one point, he found her bed and decided that he would go Night-Night.
Along with her bone pillow and her Quack Quack - which he carried all over the house with him.
We could barely get him to open presents until Josh bribed him with some red velvet cake
Gammee and Aunt E helped him open his presents
How cute is that puzzle?? He also got lots of cute clothes - he'll be the best dressed kid in school!
Austin opened this and was absolutely thrilled. He loves his Dallas Cowboys!
We tried to get a family photo again this year and it still didn't work out so well, but I have to admit...
It turned out better than last year!
As we were leaving that night, I told Hudson that I could hear Santa outside.
He immediately ran to the window and looked out...

PART II:

On Christmas morning, the munchkin gave us the best present EVER!! He slept until 7.40am! Y'all.....if you read my blog regularly then you know this is unheard of. We were so happy!!
And.....Santa left him this kitchen as a reward :)
He loves it
And it kept him busy-busy for quite awhile
Especially once he opened his gift from the Austin Morfords - lots and lots of pretend food!
Time to stock the fridge
Some of it may have been put in the laundry basket too. Whatever works.

PART III:

Next on the list was a visit to Gran Gran and Grandaddy's house! Brent, Sheila, Katie and Sawyer came into town to spend Christmas with us too. We went over there so that they could see Hudson open up more presents - no, he's not spoiled. Just loved. :)
Dump trucks, Cement Trucks, Cars, Cars and more cars - this kid hit the jackpot!
And yes - he has on his Christmas PJ's with his tennis shoes.
Cousins Katie and Sawyer are so good with him. I love seeing them help out.
Trey got a 'Life is Good' t-shirt - love that brand - as you can tell by my face :) ha!
I'll probably be stealing that. Too big? Nah, not in a few months!
Hudson continued opening and opening and opening - more Thomas the Train tracks, more cars, Leap Frog games to help him learn, etc...etc...etc....  What a wonderful family we have!

After Gran Gran and Grandaddy's, we made our way to my parents house for more gift opening and some Christmas waffles. It's tradition. Santa left this little train for Hudson and he spotted it as soon as we walked in the door.
Pops showed him which button to push to make it go
And he was off..... with a little help.
Austin wanted him to open his presents first - so he did.
Books - Yay!! Curious George and Brown Bear Brown Bear
He was thrilled at how much Hudson loved his books.
Don't worry - Hudson wasn't the only spoiled one. Austin wasn't hurting in the gift department either. - He got the new X Box Kinect and tons of stuff for the Wii he already has. This boy must've been REAL good this year. I think it's debatable. :)
Hudson opened his stocking and found some new matchbox cars and lots of other goodies.
I love seeing these two together.
Austin gave my dad this coffee cup...which was wrapped exactly like a coffee cup, so it became a big joke. We all kept saying: Gosh, I wonder what in the world that could be?????
Oh wait!! It's a coffee cup! I never would've guessed.
Anthony got a new shirt
Josh won a whole $1 off the lottery ticket that Austin gave him in his stocking and you would've thought he'd won a MILLION! Gun show anyone?? He'll love me for this pic.
The biggest moment came when my parents told Josh, Anthony, Trey and I to open our stockings at the same time. We opened them and pulled this out
Whaaaaat????? The???? Hell?????? Is??? This????

None of us could figure it out. It was early people!! Well, not really....I guess our brains just weren't working very well. My mom kept saying - SOUND IT OUT.
And my dad would say: I can't believe y'all don't get it. I can even get this!
Oh Lawd! After about 5 minutes, someone broke the code and we all laughed. We thought it was a big joke from my parents, but then they handed us all a gift and told us to open it together.
HOLY COW! We all got Apple iPads!! Get it now? Woo-hoo!!! Josh commented that it was like Oprah's Favorite Things. Ha! We were all thrilled.
I got a pic of the boys first - so funny.
Our iPads and our cases!
Hudson loaded up on more trucks and cars. Thank you Aunt Berta!
Love seeing his little face so happy!
He got this rocking chair also and rocked his horse for a little while.
Until he got tired of the horse and threw it on the floor.
Note to self - don't let Hudson rock the new baby for awhile.

Later that afternoon, we had a big crowd at my parents house - I think there were 28 this year??
Lots of food, laughter and fun.
Mmmmmmm --- Christmas Ravioli! Another tradition.
The whole table - my parents put plywood on the pool table this year and we served off of that.
Great idea!
Austin made a toast, of course.
Trey said the blessing and then we ate! Gran Gran helped Hudson with his food. He polished off 2 ravioli, some turkey, dressing, green beans and 1/2 of my pumpkin pie.
And then he decided to chill out in Uncle Perry's lap for awhile
Eden, Erin and Emily - the 3 E's!
Sheila and Katie

It was a fantastic Christmas!! We are so very blessed to have such great family and friends to celebrate with each and every year. I hope all of your Christmas celebrations were just as great!

Now it's on to New Years and taking down the Christmas decorations. And probably a trip to The Container Store because it looks like Toy R Us exploded in our house.
What are your New Year's plans?

Why wait until Christmas???

The gifts for munchkin have already started pouring in...... spoiled?? No, not at all. What makes you think that?

Gran Gran and Grandaddy gave him this Thomas the Train set last weekend and he's barely stopped playing with it. He loves it! I was able to make homemade chicken pot pies last night without a SINGLE interruption from him. He played with his trains for over an hour all by himself. I'm not complaining!
CHOO-CHOO......
My train.

Today, my mom called and asked me if it was okay if Uncle Austin gave Hudson his gift early. Umm....ooookay. I couldn't argue much since it's a record 80 degrees today. Perfect day for this gift.

Safety first - can't believe he wore the helmet. Impressive.
I think he likes it. What do you think?

I'm not sure what's better - watching Hudson receive a gift that he loves or watching Austin give a gift that he's proud of. So fun!
