Fun-Filled Weekend!

Lots of pictures in this post, so prepare yourself. We started off the weekend by planting all of our veggies in the garden. Trey and Hudson worked very hard. They planted tomatoes, peppers, okra, strawberries and I can't even remember what else. I guess I'll find out when they start sprouting.
Hudson was really more interested in pulling the leaves off the plants....
 And stomping on them.

Moving on...Saturday morning, we decided to drive out to the lake and check out the progress of my parents new lake house. It's almost finished!! We can't wait to spend the summer out there. Here's a little sneak peak....
Trey and I have already discussed how we can just see Hudson racing his bike down this driveway in a few years. With my luck, he'll have a ramp or something built to shoot himself up and into the lake. Something horribly dangerous like that, I'm sure.
And he loves the dock, but we have very strict rules about the dock. Life jacket required at all times.
 The casa de lago
 An inside sneak peak
 The bunk room
You can see how low the lake is right now. We need rain big time!! A month ago it was very full.
It was just a little windy

Later that day, we went to a benefit for my friend, Ashley who has leukemia. It was a great turn out!! They had pictures with the Easter Bunny, FlipBooks, Video Messages for Ash, an awesome silent auction (in which I won nothing) and lots of other stuff. There were so many people that I forgot to take pictures. Actually, I was too busy chasing Hudson through the crowds, so I didn't have a chance to take pics. We did get one with the Easter Bunny, but we haven't received it yet. And.....I'm pretty sure we raised a lot of money, so we're excited about that. Please keep Ashley in your prayers. She'll be undergoing her THIRD bone marrow transplant this month. They have a lot on their plates right now, but I was so happy to see the outpouring of love and support for them! Pray. Pray. Pray.

Sunday was a big day in our house. It was THOMAS the TRAIN DAY!! We took Hudson over to Grapevine to ride Thomas and he had an absolute blast. If he wasn't obsessed with Thomas before....well, he definitely is now.
While we waited to board, Hudson had fun chasing bubbles from the bubble machines that were scattered all over the place.

They had these big posters set up around the grounds too. It cracks me up that he knows all of the different trains names. Percy, Thomas and Rosie.
Of course, he was most interested in Rosie because we don't have Rosie at home. Don't worry....already put in an order for the Easter Bunny to bring a Rosie train for him.

Then we went to see the real Thomas. It was a mob scene at the front of the line and I couldn't get a picture of Hudson in front of Thomas because people were literally pushing their way. Obnoxious.
There he is......
 He was mesmerized.
And then it was time to board the train for real!
We gotta get him a better "cheese" face. Seriously.
Nothing like a window seat. Trey and I always laugh about how serious Hudson gets when he's faced with a new situation. It's like you can see the wheels spinning inside of his head....
just taking everything in.
He livened up a little when they started playing the Thomas music.
After the train ride, we went to the Thomas slide.

Then Hudson decided that he was going to hit Trey in the face.....twice....so that was the end of Thomas Day! All in all, it was a great time! I'm sure we'll be back next year.

In other news - Hudson has officially moved from his crib into his big boy bed. We started it last Sunday and he's slept every single night since then in his bed with no incidents. Yay!! I still haven't finished his room completely. I'm hoping to get that done this weekend and then I'll post pics.

I'm also trying to decide what kind of bedding I want for the nursery this time. The walls are chocolate brown striped and we're not changing that. I'm thinking about doing something like this:
I'm not a fan of the bed skirt on this one so I would change that to a more tailored look. This one looks a little too girly for me. But I like the khaki and cream. And then I can always add in pops of green, pink or blue depending on the sex of Baby Neville.
I'm not sold on it completely though. Still looking........  any ideas?? Pass them on.

Hope y'all had a great weekend!!

Praying for lots of strength for Ashley. Thanks for the update.

The lake house looks fabulous! I would be a nervous wreck on the dock. We walk the harbor here and I just know Jack or Lainey are going to fall in eventually.

Thomas!!!!!!! Such a fun event. Odd, though......they had people lined up to take a picture with Thomas.......like Santa. Wish that they had it for you guys.....really cute.

Love the bedding! I went very simple with my second........chocolate walls and white bedding with a hint of aqua. Love!

So sorry about your friend. I will be saying a prayer for her! Love the bedding. I cant wait to start decorating again myself!

And I LOVE the lake house. My parents owned a houseboat so I grew up on the lake in the summertime.

And love the pictures of Hudson. I think he looks like your husband :) Colt looks like my hubs as well.

So jealous of the lake house...it looks fantastic!

You might poke around on Etsy for bedding. I've seen some really cute stuff there, and lots of the shops will customize.
