Halloween 2011

So, I'm a little late on posting about our Halloween, but I'm the type that says: Better late, than never. Right?

I swear, I felt like we had more going on with Halloween this year than we usually do for Christmas. When did this holiday get so big??? We started off at our annual Halloween party at the country club. It's always fun for the kids because it's the first time they get to show off their costumes.

I let Hudson pick out his costume this year and he chose Buzz Lightyear.
"To Infinity and Beyond.........."
 He's loving lollipops these days.
 Buzz and Batgirl - cuties!
He's looking at Princess Izzy like - You ain't gettin' my lollipop, princess. Back away....
Some of the younger kids were precious! I didn't dress John Robert up for this party. He slept through the whole thing anyway. I swear, if it's loud .... he's asleep.
These two cracked me up -
Thing 1 and Thing 2 --- what a great idea! They even acted like them.
Madeline the kitty cat wasn't too sure about them.
This is sweet Lila. Hudson developed a major crush on her. And we think it might be mutual.
 Best costume of the night.
Disco King Hayes. I love this kid. And I can't believe he wore that wig for as long as he did.
See what I mean??? Major crush. Hudson would run up and kiss Lila. After about 3 times, Lila started kissing him back. Hilarious! I don't think Lila's daddy thought it was too funny though.

Next up was a party at some family friends house. They've been doing this party for 20+ years.
My mom and dad always dress up. Let me preface the next pictures for you.
My parents wanted to be called: Gammie and Pops for their grandparents names.
Hudson could never get it right and he started calling them: Mammee and Box.
So, that's what they dressed up as this year. I always joke with my mom that Mammee sounds like a big ole' overweight grandma, so that's how she dressed...complete with stuffing.
And there's little pumpkin John Robert!
And of course, here's Box.
Hudson had fun riding around on this tricycle. We didn't even know he knew how to pedal, but he hopped right on and went after it. Please notice the lollipop....again.

And last but not least -- we had Hudson's school party!
Complete with cupcakes and juice. Not sure why he's trying to eat like a dog??
Hudson's table of friends. I think they put all the wild boys together  :)
I love this picture. Sweet boy.
 Hudson with his pumpkin.
He told me: "Look Mommy - dis punkin has blond hair just yike me!"

And that was our Halloween. We didn't even trick or treat this year. A friend of mine decided to invite everyone to the park instead. We set up a big table with food and drinks and let the kids play on the playground with their costumes on. We enjoyed adult beverages and conversation while they ran wild. And they still got cookies and candy. I'm thinking we might need to make that a tradition.
Worked out perfectly.

Hope you all had a good Halloween too!
Next up...our weekend getaway.
