1) John Robert caught a "cold" which turned into the dreaded RSV. One day he had a slight cough and within 12 hours his cough sounded so bad it would make you jump out of your skin. It was literally the scariest thing I've gone through as a parent. Even worse than when he was in the NICU. At least I had nurses and doctors around during that time.
After 3 trips to the doctor, 2 trips to the hospital, 2 sets of antibiotics (on day 7) and 10 days later.....he was finally on the mend....just in time for Christmas Eve (shew!) He's still very wheezy and congested, but his breathing is much better and he's eating again. Poor baby lost 4 lbs. over the last 10 days - we're back down around 13 lbs. I know it doesn't look like it from this pic. He's like his mama with those big ole chubby cheeks!
Here's the sweet pea in his swing.....all smiles!
(my pictures are from my phone these days. sorry.)
And another pic. He's such a happy baby.
Even when he's sick, he can still crack a smile.
Poor Hudson was feeling neglected because all my time was being spent taking care of the little peanut. So...we had a day to ourselves and went to the museum. I love our city. This museum is so great. So many cool things for kids to do.
We didn't know it, but Santa just happened to be at the museum while we were there so Hudson jumped at the chance to sit in his lap again. Sidenote - this Santa was awesome. The set up was awesome. And it might just be the best kept secret in our town. There were TWO people in front of us. Took less than 10 minutes to see Santa. Definitely remembering this for next year.
The museum has a couple of new rooms dealing with colors and shadows and glow in the dark stuff.
So cool.
This table was really neat. Not sure how much it costs, but it was for sale in the gift shop.
There are pegs all over the table and you fit the different lego type shapes into the pegs and they light up different colors. Hudson made a robot.
Remember Lite Brite??? I wasn't allowed to have it because it had too many pieces and made a mess. However, my older cousin had one and I loved playing with it when I was at her house. Check out this massive Lite Brite!! I think I may have had more fun with it than Hudson.
In other news - Hudson is a singing machine. He sings all the time. Even makes up his own songs. Here he is in the bathtub (again) singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. This kid cracks me up.
On Friday, the 23rd...I picked up Anthony and Josh at the airport. They're here for 10 whole days! My parents had a little get together for those people who couldn't come to the wedding and wanted to support them and wish them well. It was fun and they got to see lots of friends. Good food too! Are y'all ready for this???? We're serious about our spreads here in TX. A good friend named Robin Heim did all of the food. She's fabulous. And her presentation is out of this world. Get ready.......
Her artichoke dip
Fabulous fruit tray
Blue Cheese and Brie
More cheeses and assorted crackers/breads
The kitchen spread.....
Mini twice baked potatoes
There were also several other passed appetizers...like cream cheese/jalepeno baked triangles (to die for!) and lots of venison sausage. She really out did herself. Even Mr. Food Producer, Anthony was impressed with her mad skillz :)
Sadly, I'm finding out that with 2 kids in tow...I don't have many opportunities to take pictures at parties. Those were all taken by Anthony. More to come on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

SO, I am hungry now! The food looks great! And so did that museum! I am always looking for things like that for Colt. He would love it.
I am so glad JR is better. I know that must have been scary! Hope he is feeling better!
Your poor little babe. That is some scary stuff. I am so glad to hear he is recovering. May he continue to heal. He is going to make you work, mama.
My stomach is growling just looking at that spread. Truly amazing. I love cheese.
