Spring Break & Stuff

Thursday, March 31, 2011 | | 4 comments
Our niece, Katie came into town to babysit Hudson over Spring Break since his school was closed and I had to work. Katie is a freshman in college and it was so sweet of her to do that!! She and Hudson had a blast together all week. I'm not sure who was more tired by Friday - Katie or Hudson.

They went to the Zoo one day....
 And took a ride on the carousel!!
I love this picture. I think he liked it...what do you think?

They spent some time at the park - swinging - Hudson's favorite thing to do.

And of course they made a trip to the children's museum.
He's finally tall enough to play at the water stations.

All in all, Hudson had a ton of fun with Cousin Katie. Thank you, Katie!!! We loved having you and would love to have you back anytime :)

We had lots of visitors during Spring Break - one of my best friends from college, Megan came into town with her two kiddos to catch up. We had a great time and got together with Ashley and Lisa and their kids for a big cook out one night over at Ashley's house. There were 7 kids total and Hudson was the youngest. The older kids had so much fun together.

Hudson didn't care about anything except for Corbin and Travis's playroom. He was in car heaven....

The girls - Lisa, Ashley, Megan and me

Fun times!! Can't wait to get us all together again.

Next on the list - a visit from Coco and Fitz and their little dumplings. We had planned to go to Joe T's for lunch, but the weather was too nice and we knew it would be an absolute madhouse, so we decided to hang out at our house instead. It was fun....would've been more fun with cocktails though :) I didn't get very good pictures. I'm hoping Coco did. Her camera is still sitting at my house, so I guess I could go highjack it if I really wanted too.

Bram, Hud and Tessie Mayes flying around the garage on scooters.

Sweet Liam is chasing Hudson because I'm sure Hudson stole the ball from him. Hud was not in a very sharing mood when his buddies came over. Go figure.

It was great to see Coco and Fitz. We definitely need to do that again. And hopefully the next play time will involve some margaritas......for me too. Glad y'all came over, girls!

~~~  Switching gears - I went back to the doctor this morning for my 25 week appointment. The heartbeat is still holding strong around 143 - boy territory if you believe the old wives tales. We'll see......
One thing that did change though was my weight gain. I had only gained about 3 lbs. up until this point (and yes, I swear I'm eating). Uh.....that certainly changed today. I gained SEVEN lbs. this last month. Holy cow. Cow is right. :) I better get to walking. Next appointment is my glucose test and then I start going every two weeks until 36 weeks.
And............that's a wrap. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Weekend with Uncle Anthony
Yes Ann-tony - you get your very own post. I know how happy this makes you.
Anthony rolled into town for a quick visit this past weekend. He spent Friday evening over in Dallas with Uncle Josh and Miss Shannon who was in town from L.A. Josh didn't get to see us too much because he was a "working man" over in Dallas.
Trey and I took Hudson to ride the Trinity train on Saturday morning and thank goodness we caught the first train! Because the traffic for the zoo was out of control by noon. It's a popular place these days. But, Hudson loves, loves, loves the train.
 Or maybe it's the popcorn he loves??
 Note to self - don't tell Hudson to say cheese when his mouth is full :)
We headed over to my parents house later that evening for a big family dinner. There's always a family dinner when Anthony is in town. And this was no exception. Beef tenderloin, risotto, salad and Austin made this fabulous blueberry/strawberry crisp (with a yiddle help). Delicious.
Uncle Perry had fun chasing Hudson through the "forest" in my parents front yard. He's talented, peeps. Beer in one hand - kid in the other. He's ready.
 He had endless amounts of entertainment that night....
Even Uncle Josh got in on the action
Sunday turned much, much colder here. It was 87 on Saturday and the high on Sunday was around 52, I think?? Anthony, Austin and I went shopping while Hudson napped. I bought some much needed clothes! I'm trying to stay away from maternity clothes because I'd really like to be able to wear the stuff after the baby. So, I'm going for dresses and loose fitting tops. Luckily, those things are in style right now! We got home right as the munchkin was waking up.
He had some play time with Anthony......
And some down time with Pops....or Box as he calls my dad.
Another family dinner on Sunday evening - pork loin stuffed with sausage, roasted potatoes and salad. This.......
turned into this..... thanks to Anthony's plating skillz
My two handsome brudders
And all of us -  love getting my pic taken with no make up :)
And that was our weekend. Next up....... some pics from Spring Break with Katie Belle...if she'll ever forward me the pictures :) And this weekend, Trey and I are taking Hudson to ride Thomas the Train in Grapevine!! He's going to LOVE it. I can't wait to see his face.
My 25 week doctor's appointment is this week. I can't believe I only have about 14-15 weeks left!!
Have I picked out new bedding? No. Have we chosen names?? No. Have I registered at the hospital?? No. Have I done anything??? Nope...not really. I guess I better get started on that stuff, huh?
Have a great week!!
I've been bad about updating the blog lately. Too much going on and not enough time in the day, I guess. Or I'm just lazy. Probably more of the latter.
We've been busy bees lately. Between Spring Break (pics to come on that), birthday parties, play dates and everyday life...I feel like we haven't stopped. We're spending lots and lots of time outside enjoying the gorgeous weather we've been having in North Texas. Except for the wind. I could do without all the wind. Hudson's loving this daylight savings time because that means more time outside after dinner. And of course, more time in his new sandbox.
We build the sand castle's and then he stomps on them. Fun stuff. I quickly learned that a diaper and nothing else is the best outfit for a sandbox.
Spring Break updates coming soon. And a visit from Uncle Anthony this week too! Yipee!
Hope y'all had a great weekend.....
Birthday Weekend!!
Tuesday, March 8, 2011 | | 11 comments
Hang on peeps, it's birthday and picture overload today. Trey's birthday was on Friday, so we started off the celebration by going to our favorite restaurant for a family dinner on Thursday night.
He loves when I snap pictures of him
And even though we were celebrating Trey's birthday, you know it's really all about Hudson. Uncle Austin gave Hudson an early birthday present - Chuggington DVD. He loves it.
These guys came by to entertain us for awhile
I think Hudson enjoyed that
This is his "Cheeeeese" pose. Please note that he still won't look AT the camera.
Hudson's birthday party was on Saturday morning. We had a joint party with his buddy, Sheldon. His family owns the school that Hudson attends, so we decided to have it at the school. It worked out perfectly. We rented 2 bounce houses (one with a big slide) and had pizza and cake. Easy-Easy!
Sheldon and Hudson had to preview the slide before their guests arrived
Climbing is fun.
But sliding is better!
I'm not sure who's having more fun in this picture - Austin or Hudson.
Sugar crazed kids!
Pizza and juice or more slide time??? Decisions. Decisions.
Tried to get a picture of both kiddos with the cake. It didn't work so well.
At all.
Nope. Not for Sheldon either.
So we sang Happy Birthday really quick
And got down to business - eating that cake!
The cake! Thanks to my mom once again. She's so talented!
Thomas the Train engine.
One of the box cars
More cake
Some of my favorite peeps
Hudson decided to take a sleeping Lucas for a little stroll
John Cosby decided to give the bounce house a whirl
Michael and Mary Michael are chillin'
Party Favor Lollipops
My two birthday boys
I think the party was a success -
Today is Hudson's actual birthday. I'm still in shock that he's already 2 years old. I made his favorite breakfast of pancakes this morning. And he started crying when I lit the candles. Nice.
Here's hoping that he's in a better mood later on this afternoon. A cranky birthday boy is no fun!
Happy 2nd Birthday, Hudson Graham!!
